Writers, editors and industry experts will gather at NAREE’s event in Orlando on Nov. 6 and 7 in association with NAR. This meeting is always interesting, and if the stock market begins to come back as strong as it did today, perhaps we will hear some lively discussions about the opportunities that are ahead. If you are a developer with homes and lots to sell, it is wise to interact with NAREE, the oldest and most respected organization for real estate journalism. Great group of folks too.

I have no crystal ball, but I do think that these things run in cycles. If foreclosures were addressed with a bit more force last year or even in 2006, I think it might have helped. In the aftermath, real estate is still important to people. I think we need a new president to change the tone and I really don’t think it matters who it is. Psychology caused the mess and it will fix it, ultimately, when people think it is a good time to buy again.
